RBI launches UDGAM portal | Customers can get unclaimed deposits from bank |

The Reserve Bank of India announced a centralised web portal, UDGAM (Unclaimed Deposits – Gateway to access Information), for addressing the issue of unclaimed deposits with banks. The RBI has developed this web portal to facilitate easy search by the public of their unclaimed deposits across multiple banks in one place.

Currently, unclaimed deposits in seven banks can be searched on the portal UDGAM. These banks include the State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Dhanlaxmi Bank Ltd, South Indian Bank Ltd, DBS Bank India Ltd, and Citibank .

The search facility for remaining banks on the portal will be made available in a phased manner by October 15, 2023 as released to press by RBI.

How to search for unclaimed deposits in UDGAM portal?

You can directly go to the UDGAM portal by clicking the below button

Register your account with name, mobile number and password .

Now after registration , login with your mobile number and password . Enter your inputs in search criteria . PAN number is the best input for this .

Hit the search button and your unclaimed deposits if any will be displayed . If an account is inoperative for 10 years, the balance is considered to be an unclaimed deposit as per RBI .These unclaimed deposits are transferred by banks to “Depositor Education and Awareness Fund” (DEA fund) maintained by RBI. You, can still approach the bank to claim these deposits along with interest and it is easier now with the launch of UDGAM.
